Sea Of Mourners Gather For Ratan Tata’s Prayer Meet In Mumbai, Final Journey To Begin At 4 PM

Legendary industrialist Ratan Tata’s mortal remains, draped in the national flag, were on Thursday carried from his residence to the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai, where a sea of political leaders and other dignitaries turned up to pay final respects to the former Tata Group chairman. Decked with white flowers, the hearse followed a police band performing the funeral procession music with trumpets and drums.

Videos on social media showed the portrait of a smiling Ratan Tata, amid grim faces, bidding him an emotional goodbye.

Ratan Tata’s Assistant Shantanu Naidu Ahead Of Ambulance On Bike, Among Visitors At NCPA

Shantanu Naidu, Ratan Tata’s assistant and the youngest general manager at Tata Trust, was seen at the forefront on a bike as the industrialist’s body was taken to the NCPA for public viewing.

Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, one of India’s biggest conglomerates, died late on Wednesday night after a brief illness. He was 86.
