Kareena Kapoor Khan has replied to the legal notice which was sent to her by the Madhya Pradesh High Court over the title of her book ‘Pregnancy Bible’. As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Kareena’s lawyers, Divya Krishna Billaiya and Nikhil Bhatt, recently appeared before the court when they clarified that the actress has no intention of hurting anybody’s sentiments. The lawyers denied the allegations of hurting religious sentiments and stated that the book was not intended to offend any community. The next hearing in the Madhya Pradesh High Court on the matter will be held on September 10, 2024. In May this year, Kareena received a notice from the Madhya Pradesh High Court for using the word ‘Bible’ in the title of her book, ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible.’ The Bollywood actress was issued a notice after an advocate named Christopher Anthony filed a petition objecting to the book title and demanding a ban on it. The advocate claimed that the use of the word ‘Bible’ in Kareena’s book’s title is hurtful to the sentiments of the Christian community. He also accused the diva of trying to gain “cheap publicity” for her book by using the word Bible. “Bible is the holy book of Christianity all over the world and it is wrong to compare Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy with the Bible,” he said.
It was reported that the advocate first approached the police to file an FIR against the actress for her book, which was published in 2021. However, when police officials refused to file an FIR, he approached the lower court. His plea was rejected from the lower court too which ruled that the advocate failed to establish how the use of the word “Bible” in the title was offensive. Following this, advocate Anthony moved to the Additional Sessions Court but his petition was dismissed from there too.
